Pierre Bonnard is one the most loved painters of the 20th century, celebrated for his use of colour to convey an exquisite sense of emotion.
His close friend Henri Matisse declared that Bonnard was “a great painter, for today and definitely for the future”.
The exhibition features more than 100 works by Bonnard presented within a contemporary scenography by India Madavi.
Our visit will start with a 30minute illustrated talk by gallery guide covering the key themes of the exhibition after which we will enter the exhibition.
Meet at the north entrance of the St Kilda Road gallery (next to the Theatres building) at 10.20am for entry to the lecture theatre for the talk at 10,30am.
