Activities Planner - 2024 - A working document - Version 12 - 14th August
Beaumaris Probus has many Interest Group meetings, outings, functions and visits. The diary is very busy. We wish to minimise “clashes” between activities so that members have maximum choice. The Activities Planner is a working document to assist Interest Group leaders when scheduling an activity. Please note, more activities will be added, others might change. Always check with your Interest group leader.
Firm dates of Club events for the next 90 days appear in our newsletter and below in Upcoming Events
Departing from Southern Cross station Ballarat for lunch followed by a visit to the Gallery
Clarice Beckett Exhibition, The Art Gallery of Ballarat
The Art Gallery of Ballarat is presenting paintings by Clarice Beckett (1887 – 1935) from the National Collection, an intimate collection by one of the most important artists of the early twentieth century and a former resident of Beaumaris. Clarice painted the life and scenery from her home in Beaumaris and surrounds with an eye for the commonplace and fleeting effects of nature. Her works capture a world on the cusp of modernisation, evoking both the natural environment and simple pleasures of suburbia.
Pension holders will most likely have a free travel pass available for the day and there is no entry fee to the Gallery. Departure time from Southern Cross Station will be confirmed closer to the event date.
John Green, Assistant Club Secretary, is co-ordinating this planned activity.
