Tastes – That’s the name of our regular Restaurant evenings

 Organiser – Geoff Bransbury

“Tastes” evenings are held approximately every three months

The photos below are from our very enjoyable evening in February 2018 at the Japan Inn, Beaumaris

The title, Tastes, describes perfectly the main reason for forming this group 9 years ago by Peter McGregor. The concept, first and foremost, was for members and wives to share some conviviality with a variety of selective good food in pleasant surroundings in our local area. Members are offered a special wine and food experience at each gathering, three to four times a year: tastes of the cuisine of Greece, Thailand, Morocco, Japan, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, even roast suckling pig Argentinian-style. From the beginning, there was also a focus on quality, good value wines for purchase at $15 a bottle: from Heathcote shiraz to New Zealand pinot noir and sauvignon blanc, and carefully-selected wines from the Hunter Valley, Barossa, Adelaide Hills and Margaret River. In summary, Tastes provides members with quality engagement with each other within a context of quality food and wine at a reasonable cost.
