Spit Roast Dinner and Jazz on the Lawn
Friday 27th March 4.30 - 8.00+
At Sandringham Croquet Club -Opposide Sandringham Club
We’ve changed this event this year. This is a social evening like no other, it is NOT a Croquet event, however if you want to have a go, then you can. There is NO competition this year. The venue is fabulous, tucked away by the foreshore. Its a great place for a BBQ with a jazz group!
We will have a fabulous spit roast dinner with salad, jacket potatoes, plus a wonderful desert. We have a great little Jazz band “The Front Porch” who will play from 4.30pm onwards. They play all sorts of music, not just jazz…swing, blue grass etc! A casual dinner will be served from approximately 6pm.
Croquet, if you want to try is purely optional. Some of the SCC members will show you how to play if it’s new to you. Don’t be put off coming because you think it’s a croquet event – It’s NOT, it’s just a great a social evening in a great place.
BYO drinks and glasses. Cost is $30 per head (includes all food) plus a green fee of $10 per player for optional croquet.

Driving time to Swan Hill by the Calder and London highways, is 4 hours and 15 minutes, (375km).
Payment of $100 per couple to the treasurer indicating that it is for the Murray Downs trip is requested. Places are limited but we will be running a waiting list.
Some may be interested in travelling to Swan Hill via the Wimmera and the Mallee to observe the painted silos in a number of towns. Louise and I did this year, and while it probably means taking an extra day and staying overnight along the way, we found it very interesting.
The main towns with painted silos are Talbot, Rupanyup, Sheep Hills, Brim, Roseberry, Lascelles, and Patchewollock. Although a long way off the track, Rochester probably has the most spectacular silos of all, and could be taken in on the trip home or on a shorter trip to Swan Hill.
