2018 Beaumaris Probus Bowls event at Sandringham Bowls Club
WEDNESDAY 14TH NOVEMBER 2018,
WOW WHAT A NIGHT – WITH OVER 20 PLAYERS AND THE HIGHER LEVEL OF THE PLAYERS ABILITY EVIDENT COMPARED TO LAST YEAR THE COMPETIYION BECAME FIERCE AS THE NIGHT WORE ON AND THEY BATTLED FOR THE BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE AND THE TROPHY.
THE TROPHY WAS SKILLFULLY WON BY LLOYD JENKIN ASSISTED BY SANDRINGHAM CLUB MEMBER GEOFF MASON
JOHN GREEN PRESENTED THE TROPHIES AND THANKED THE ORGANISERS STAN BERNHARD TED MONTFORT, THE SANDRINGHAM BOWLS CLUB MEMBERS WHO ASSISTED ON THE GREEN, ALL OF OUR PARTICIPANTS AND THE LADIES WHO PROVIDED ANOTHER MAGNIFICIENT DINNER LEAD BY CATHY SPENCER,INGRID EDELMAIER ,LIS LAWLESS AND HENK VANDERLELY AND ASSISTED IN THE BAR BY MARGARET MacGREGOR.

Teams may consist of Men, Ladies or mixed. Each team must have at least one Probus member.
2 Bowl Triples Open Tournament 2 games of 15 ends starting at 10.30am. 1st game at 10.30 am…….then Lunch 2nd game after lunch

About our Lawn Bowls Group
The Lawn Bowls group currently comprises only a few members who are members of our local Lawn Bowls Clubs. despite this, Beaumaris Probus holds an Annual Bowls Social Evening in November each year which includes a unique Bowls competition and a fabulous dinner prepared by the members of the Sandringham Bowls Club. Some 35-40 Probus members and their wives and friends attend, most of whom know nothing about Bowls, but our Bowls Group members and helpers from the Sandringham Bowls Club sort everything out!.

In 2006 a Team of Geoff Mason , Graham Dunscombe. Hugh Grayson and Ted Montfort won the day at Burden Park Bowling Club and the following week won the Metropolitan Trophy against winning teams from each of the other Metropolitan venues.

Since 1998 our Probus Club has been represented in the Metropolitan Annual Open Probus Bowls Tournament which has been played usually on the 2nd Wednesday in March each year at venues throughout the Metropolitan area.
Most of our Beaumaris Probus Club members who play bowls enjoy playing at Beaumaris, Black Rock and Sandringham Bowling Clubs.
